Peristaltic pumps 82 ml/min

The 400F/D peristaltic pump generates flow rates up to 82 ml/min and works well in applications that require lower flow rates. The pump uses a spring-loaded track for long tube life and flow-accuracy. When necessary, the tubing occlusion can be adjusted to produce higher pressures. Available with four standard gear motors, the pump accepts tube elements with a 1.0-mm wall thickness, and it comes in four bore sizes to match the pump to the required flow. The unit also comes in two and three-channel models.

Pressure transducers work wet or dry

The P6000 line of pressure transducers for respirators, oxygen generators, laboratory instrumentation and the like, operate on a linear, amplified output of 0.5 to 4.5 Vdc. The ESD and EMI/RFI-protected devices are suitable for wet and dry media. The units come in pressure ranges of inches of H20 up to 75 psi absolute and gage.

Software speeds CT image reconstructions

AxRecon image-reconstruction software is available for medical imaging, security, and non-destructive testing tasks. Image reconstruction for Computed Tomography (CT) Scanners often takes hours of processing time. The software reduces the time required to complete this work from hours to minutes to speed imaging workflow. One user said AxRecon provides 3D reconstructions in up to 1/50th the time of a single-CPU. To meet workload demands, users often sacrifice image quality to save on processing time. AxRecon works with existing cone-beam CT scanners to eliminate bottlenecks by speeding filtered back-projection computations. This lets medical and commercial users accelerate the reconstruction of their data and improve the quality of their images without disrupting their current workflow. AxRecon combines proprietary software acceleration libraries with the massive parallel processing power of Nvidia GPUs to shorten sophisticated computations. The software works with existing CT scanners with minimal setup.

Power module has high signal density

The ZipLine connector system now includes a power module. Designed for both backplane and orthogonal applications, the power IMLA (Insert-Molded Leadframe Assembly) has a current carrying capacity of 7A per position, or 42A per column, as tested for 30C temperature rise in still air when a single 6-contact power IMLA is integrated within a signal module. The ZipLine high-density, high-performance connector system is built on AirMax VS technology and offers similar signal integrity performance. The ZipLine connector system uses edge-coupling technology to deliver high signal density with low insertion loss and low crosstalk, all without the use of costly and space-consuming metal shields. Data rates can scale from 2.5 Gb/s to 12.5 Gb/s without requiring redesign of a basic platform.

Medical-grade TPUs are FDA and ISO approved

Three medical-grade thermoplastic polyurethanes (TPUs) include a new Texin resin and two new Desmopan TPU resins. Texin 285 TPU is formulated for extrusion, injection molding, and blown film processing. With its excellent abrasion resistance and moldability, the resin is useful for a variety of applications, including wound dressings, fabric coatings, tubing, packaging and films, and soft touch grips. Designed for blown film manufacturing, Desmopan DP 2590A TPU may be used for wound dressings, fabric coatings, packaging and films, and surgical drapes. This TPU resin features excellent tear strength and puncture resistance. Desmopan DP 9370A TPU is the softest medical-grade TPU in BMS' portfolio, making it ideal for use in catheters, tubing, and soft grip applications. Desmopan DP 9370A TPU can be extruded or injection molded. The resin features excellent hydrolytic stability and microbe resistance. Texin and Desmopan TPU resins have been customized for the medical market and meet the requirements of FDA-modified ISO 10993 Part 1 “Biological Evaluation of Medical Devices” tests for 30-day indirect blood contact applications.

Miniaturized machine tool probe

Only 50-mm long with a 40-mm diameter, the OMP400 machine tool probe is suitable for machines with short Z-axis travel and spindles as small as HSK32. The probe reduces set-up times and improves process control with accurate on-machine measurement. Strain gauges in the device let it trigger at low contact forces for less bending of the stylus and little pre-travel for greater accuracy. The device is sealed to IPX8 and withstands harsh machine tool environments. Battery life provides up to 50 hours of continuous use.
