Projectors for immersive medical modeling

A new medical research tool, the immersive 3D CAVE lets researchers walk around the molecular structure of cells. Weill Cornell Medical College in N.Y.C. is the latest facility to install a CAVE. The college selected Christie Digital to design and install it. The CAVE is powered by eight Christie Mirage 3-chip DLP projectors with active stereo capability. The projectors deliver a resolution of 3.68 megapixels per wall, said to set new standards for molecular modeling and other areas of biomedical research.
