A manufacturer of rotary components and electronic-packaging products now offers a series Type E37 that packs two encoders in one switch. The Type E37 features a dual concentric inner shaft and outer pole, letting it act as two encoders. This saves space and costs. The encoder comes in a metal housing with shaft. An IP68 front-panel seal is optional and an operating temperatures span -40 to +85C. It comes with 16 or 32 detents in standard resolution. The encoders have a rotational life of up to one million revolutions. The “click with a kick” indexer provides tactile feedback you can feel and hear as the switch rotates. This lets users change channels or frequencies in precise intervals without having to look at the switch indicator.
