Software connectivity for test results

CardioChek Link software and CardioChek PA point-of-care instrument by Polymer Technology Systems Inc, Indianapolis, lets users transmit cholesterol and other test results directly from the instrument to a personal computer.

“In the past, healthcare testers and screeners had to transcribe results from the CardioChek PA point-of-care instrument to a paper system and/or a computer database system,” says Robert Huffstodt, president and CEO of PTS, Inc. “Now, CardioChek Link software can assist healthcare professionals by minimizing the potential of transcription errors. This will enhance the quality systems and quality assurance for our CardioChek PA point-of-care instrument users.”

The software configuration provides the following:
• Compatibility with Windows XP and Vista.
• No corruption of data from interference from or with other devices.
•Includes provider name and numeric code, patient name and numeric code, and all information currently printed by the CardioChek PA® printer.
•Allows for the provider name and numeric code to be saved for multiple patient entries.
•USB plug-and-play.
• Identifies when connected or disconnected. (CardioChek Link only runs when connected and there is no limit on connects/disconnects.)
