Laser marks help track tubing

Fluoroplastic tubing can be permanently laser marked with part numbers, text, barcodes, or logos. Parker/TexMed, Ft. Worth, Tex., (texmed.us) offers laser-markable fluoroplastic smooth bore, beading, and heat shrinkable tubing. Once lasered, the marks are almost unremovable.

Laser marks are non-contaminating, indelible, and they identify parts and enhance traceability. In the past, marking was unheard of on fluoroplastic tubing because traditional inks would not adhere. Lasers, however, change the pigment in the material, creating a visible mark without adding ink or other contaminants.
