Tubing OK for In-vivo Applications
The Toxikon Corp. issued Grayline Inc., Waukesha, Wisc., a test certificate stating that its GS-80 medical-grade tubing meets the requirements of USP Class VI - 70°C. Toxikon's in-vivo analysis of the tubing samples found that GS-80 caused no adverse effects in the animals into which it was injected and implanted. The animals were observed for signs of toxicity, skin reactivity, hemorrhage, necrosis, discoloration, encapsulation, and infection.
GS-80 (www.graylineinc.com) is suitable for applications that require flexible non-toxic tubing is required such as medical, dental, or cosmetic equipment. The material contains a special stabilizer that makes it well suited for gamma-sterilization. It can be supplied on reels or cut to length.
